Weight Loss Scam Sites

Have you ever looked at a website and thought wow these claims are just too good to be true. Or seen a site from someone that says they have tried a weight loss product that works and offer a free trial of it? Odds are these people are lying to you.

There are a lot of Affiliate marketers out there that are trying to fool you into buying or signing up for different products and services under false pretenses. Not all marketers are bad, in fact most are doing a good job offering their opinions on products they have actually tried and recommend.

Avoid Free Trials

Free trial offers on weight loss products or diet pills will almost always cost you a lot of money, stress and frustration. They have a small trial period to try the product (which begins from the day you order not when you get the package) then hit you will a monthly charge of $50,$60 $70 or more. They also sign you up for extra monthly memberships to other sites they own. This will cost you hundreds. Avoid these at all costs. (read the terms of service)

Update:

The list of scam sites has been removed for a few reasons and while I still agree that most of them are misleading and promoting false claims the number of new sites popping up has been enormous, the style has changed from fake blogs to misleading news items and review sites. I can’t list them all as there are just too many of them. By listing only a handful of them and not every single one it gives false credibility to the sites that are not listed.

I have received more emails than I can handle to look into various sites that my readers believe to be scams and while I’m glad that people are paying more attention and being more cautious to online claims, this side project has taken my focus away from the reason I started this blog in the first place. To share my experience and advice in losing weight and getting healthy.

A Few Tips

Read the terms of service before buying anything online. This includes the big online retailers as well.

Avoid Free trials, These sound so tempting but I have seen countless claims of people being charged so much more than they had expected. Almost nothing is truly free online.

Using credit cards, I use prepaid Mastercards for my online purchases. It reduces the risk of someone getting a hold of your main credit card account and doing some damage to it.

Remember the Golden Rule: If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
